The 29th annual Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival returns to Lake Skinner this weekend, bringing with it wine tasting, hot air balloons and ---- most importantly ----- live concert performances.

It is important to note that the weather can be extremely warm at the festival and before heading over to rock out to Berlin (playing Friday night), Peter Frampton ( Saturday) or Sticky Fingers (Sunday) be sure to stay hydrated and keep yourself well-fed. And no, eight glasses of wine and four small blocks of taster cheeses do not count.

Below is a roundup of the weekend's festivities:

Music, music and more music

Friday night's Main Stage concert lineup includes performances by Hodges Taylor (5:30 p.m.) Berlin with Terri Nunn (7 p.m.) and Loverboy (9 p.m.). Berlin was part of the new wave explosion of the early '80s with lead vocalist Terri Nunn's provocative image and vocal style leading the way. The band's single "Take My Breath Away," became a hit when it was included in the movie, "Top Gun." Loverboy's hits include "Working for the Weekend," "The Kid Is Hot Tonight," "Turn Me Loose," "Lovin' Every Minute of It" and "Heaven in Your Eyes," which was also featured in "Top Gun."

Saturday night features performances by Intercept (1 p.m.), Animotion (2 p.m.), , Howard Jones (3:30 p.m.), the Gin Blossoms (5 p.m.) and headliner Peter Frampton (7 p.m.). Frampton, an English teen idol for his work with the group "Herd," found U.S. commercial success in 1971 with Steve Marriott and the group Humble Pie. A year later he released his first solo album, "Wind of Change." His 1975 live album "Frampton Comes Alive" launched him into superstar status with hit singles "Show Me the Way," "Do You Feel Like We Do?" and "Baby, I Love Your Way."

Howard Jones first hit U.S. shores in 1984 with his album "Humanís Lib." His second album "Dream Into Action" was more successful spawning a series of hits including "Like To Get To Know You Well," "Look Mama," "Things Can Only Get Better" and the classic "No One Is To Blame" which reached No.1 in the U.S. singles chart and has since had over 3 million radio plays in the USA.

The Gin Blossoms come to the festival with a new single to be released this month and the full album due to hit the stands this summer. Their 1992 album "New Miserable Experience" produced numerous hits including The Gin Blossomís hits "Hey Jealousy," "Found Out About You," "As Long As It Matters," "Follow You Down," "Til I Hear It From You," "Until I Fall Away," and "Allison Road." The performed once before at the festival in 2003. Animotion rode the wave of synth pop in the mid-'80s, to find success in the top 10 with "Obsession" in 1995.

Sunday is tribute band day at the festival and features performances by Led Zepagain (Led Zeppelin) at 1 p.m., Queen Nation (Queen) at 2:15 p.m. and Sticky Fingers (Rolling Stones) at 3 p.m. on the Main Stage.

The Wine Garden Stage will provide music all day long Saturday and Sunday. Saturday performances include Javid, Kaedmon, Debra Davis, Stereo Suite, Libbie Schrader and Hindsite. Sunday's lineup features James Linton, MSJC Menifee Jazz Ensemble, Gregg Edwards Band and Rob Gonzales.
